Our Curriculum – Stoneferry Primary

Stoneferry Primary is committed to meeting the needs of all of its pupils we currently have on roll. As a part of the Constellation trust we are committed to ensuring our curriculum is broad, balanced and challenging for all of our pupils and that we inspire our pupils to be aspirational about their futures. We do this by providing the essential building blocks through a core programme of English and Maths, but build on this through exciting and engaging topics which interest and focus the children.

As a school we are committed to working with our wider community and continually look to connect with local business and seek out opportunities in our surrounding area. Industry and business are at the heart of our community therefore we intend to reflect this in our children’s learning by providing regular enterprising activities, through which they can see the purpose of their learning. As part of this we promote tolerance and respect towards others so that our children become responsible citizens in Britain’s modern society.

Ensuring that the children are equipped with the spoken language required throughout life, we focus greatly on discussion and debate. Children regularly discuss key topical issues and have a voice over the decisions which are made regarding their schooling. Children are encouraged to have an opinion, but also how to present it in a way which is not only persuasive but also appropriate.

At Stoneferry we recognize the importance of creating a supportive environment for our children to perform to the best of their abilities. Developing mindset and belief in our children is key and above all else our curriculum should be fun and enjoyable. This is our goal and this is what we endeavour to deliver each day.
